The Look Local First Classic

the Look Local First Classic is more than a day on the course; it's a celebration of small business owners, entrepreneurs, and community champions who make our cities feel like home. Since 2023, Look Local First has brought together local businesses, corporate partners, and community members for a fun, high-energy golf tournament that raises funds to support our small business initiatives. It's truly a tournament like no other! 

Through the Classic, we create meaningful connections, spotlight small businesses, and generate resources that allow us to continue hosting events, building partnerships, and investing directly into the local business community.

Format: 4-Person Scramble 

Time: 8:00 AM

Location: A.H. Blank Golf Course | Des Moines, IA 

Golfers can expect a full day of connection and fun, including on-course activations, local vendors experiences, raffles, and plenty of opportunities to network with fellow supporters and owners of small businesses. From check-in to final putt, every moment is designed to celebrate community and create lasting impact. 

Why It Matters

Look Local First is nonprofit dedicated to supporting and uplifting small businesses. In just a few years, we have hosted networking events, markets, and community experiences that have connected and showcased hundreds of local entrepreneurs. The Classic is one of the biggest fundraisers of the year and plays a major role in helping us continue that work. 

Funds raised from the Look Local First Classic help us: 

• Host free and low-cost events for small business owners and our community 
• Provide opportunities for local businesses to showcase their work 
• Build community partnerships and collaborations 
• Expand Look Local First initiatives to support even more entrepreneurs
