We caught up with the founder, esthetician, and all-around glow-getter behind Sweeterie Esthetics to learn more about her journey, what sets her apart, and what's next for this growing local business.

The Story Behind the Name

From the very beginning, Sweeterie Esthetics was about more than skincare. It was about creating a space where people felt seen, heard, and cared for. "I wanted a personable experience where clients felt welcomed and could have an amazing service," she shares. "One that I'd want for myself."

The name "Sweeterie" has roots in her youth—nicknamed "Sweet" growing up, she adopted "Thatgirlsweeterie" as her Instagram handle in middle school, and it stuck. Years later, it naturally evolved into the perfect name for her business: a reflection of the comfort and kindness she offers every client. "It resonated with my younger self and the kind of experience I want every person to have when they step into my space. Nothing short of a sweet escape."

A Journey Fueled by Passion

Her path to esthetics wasn't linear, but every step prepared her for this. From watching beauty tutorials for hours to working in care-based roles at Wesley Acres and Mosaic, her passion for service and self-care always shone through. After a supportive conversation with family, she enrolled at the Aveda Institute and never looked back.

She graduated in 2022 and worked with other estheticians before taking a leap of faith into solo ownership. "I started playing with the idea of going solo when a fellow esthetician and nail tech reached out with an available space," she recalls. "I jumped all in." This February marked her first anniversary in business, and she says it's been the best decision of her life.

More Than Just a Facial

At Sweeterie Esthetics, every visit is personal. "My attention to detail and the way I treat my clients is what sets me apart," she says. "The conversations and relationships I have with my sweet friends, the judgment-free space I hold, and the trust built in the treatment room are what make this place different."

Clients can expect tailored treatments, therapeutic facials, and services that meet them where they are, both emotionally and financially. "I love to find good skincare in every price range," she explains. "And I'm always myself, which invites my clients to do the same."

Some of her specialties? Corrective skincare, glow-inducing facials, and brow transformations (especially brow laminations!). "Taking those '90s overplucked brows and making them thick and fluffy again? Yes ma'am."

A Sweet Space That Feels Like Home

From the playlist to the essential oils to the temperature in the room—every part of your service is tailored to you. "If you snore during a facial? I take that as a compliment! I want you to feel totally at ease. My space is your space."

This energy keeps clients coming back and trusting her with their glow. "One of my favorite stories is about a client who struggled with texture and hyperpigmentation. She's been consistent in and out of the treatment room, and now her skin is glowing."

Big Dreams, Big Heart

Looking ahead, she dreams of expanding Sweeterie Esthetics into a full-service beauty lounge, creating a collaborative space for other beauty professionals to thrive. She's also planning to grow her mobile spa services and hopes to mentor the next generation of estheticians.

"I want to build a community of beauty professionals who lead with heart and intention," she says.

When she's not at the studio, you'll find her pouring into her clay jewelry business, Styles by Sweeterie, singing her heart out, hosting family and friends, or spending time with her biggest supporter, her husband Ryan, and their fur babies, Cody and Tinker.
